Data Security

Wild & Rare is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace stores data in multiple Tier III data centers across the United States. They serve images and other static assets via multiple geographically distributed content delivery networks (CDNs). This system ensures that the data in each page view is served from the data center closest to the visitor’s location. All Squarespace sites are hosted across their private cloud with full redundancy. If a primary service fails, they can switch to a backup service. Squarespace monitors all its sites 24/7 and is ready to respond to incidents within minutes of detecting an anomaly.

Personally identifiable information is stored on the server, but is not publicly accessible. Sensitive data such as credit card numbers are encrypted using SSL and other industry standard measures. Squarespace implements security measures to protect your information, including using a secure server and encrypting all payment information into our payment gateway providers’ database. For more information on Squarespace’s PCI-DSS compliance for e-commerce sites handling payment, please read this page. Both of Squarespace’s payment processors, Stripe and PayPal, are PCI compliant.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the way in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that provider is located. For example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
